NDIS
NDIS referrals are aligned to self-managed or plan-managed clients. We are in the process of re-registering with NDIA.
NDIS operational guidelines align to the pricing of services for Aidaway OT, for those who are on the scheme. Pricing can be seen on the following link: https://www.ndis.gov.au/providers/pricing-arrangements
Our therapists bill as per time spent which typically aligns to the industry. This noted, as we have background experience and knowledge of insurance schemes such as NDIS, our perspective is holistic in nature and we will happily only collaborate on information which is assistive directly to scheme requirements.
An example of timespent typically within our services is as follows:
– Functional assessments – between 5-10 hours
– Assistive technology applications – 3-4 hours
– Support letters – 15-30 mins typically
– Progress reports – 2-3 hours typically
– Complex home modification reports – 10-15 hours typically
– SIL/SDA reports – 10-15 hours typically
N.B. For the above, where cases may be straightforward or with increased complexity, timespent may vary. Therapists are happy to discuss this matter. For all interventions and documentation, therapists are collaborative and strive to work within a multidisciplinary approach.
External to the above, for persons wanting to access the NDIS scheme, Aidaway OT is able to assist. The price for an access report is typically capped at $450, though if a full report is not required Aidaway OT is happy to collaborate and will charge at an hourly rate of $180 in attempt to minimize costs.
DRIVING ASSESSMENTS
For all Melbourne and surrounding suburbs, a driving assessment with Aidaway OT costs $385 (compromising off-road and on-road assessments, travel to and from appointments and report). It is important to note that in addition to this fee, a driving instructor is required for the on-road component, with their fee typically being between $140-$170 in price.
Please note, where pension/health card holders are involved, liaison with Aidaway OT is recommended to discuss fee negotiation.

MEDICARE
Aidaway is a registered Medicare provider. Medicare is able to assist clients with complex needs or chronic conditions. To be eligible for funding assistance, a referral from a GP must be required and services must be associated with an overall care plan.

PRIVATE HEALTH
Occupational therapy as a blanket guideline, is sometimes covered by private health. Funding assistance is usually available for more comprehensive or ancillary options; specific coverage should be discussed with the relevant health fund. It is noted that most private health funds have scope to assist with costs towards equipment aids.

WORKSAFE

SELF-FUNDING/PRIVATE RATES
Standard consultation rates are $180 per hour.
Where funding constraints are involved, rates are able to be negotiated with Aidaway OT. Our therapists are happy to offer free advice where this is not extensive and it assists clients within the community.
HOME CARE PACKAGE / SUPPORT AT HOME
Aidaway OT has experience in working with a number of providers for clients with packages. All of our therapists have experience in working with the elderly of varying clinical backgrounds. Rates can be clarified with reception.
As home care package rates are often with inherent constraints, our pricing aims to balance cost effectiveness in price, however also acknowledges that our therapists are experienced and will work to optimize short and long term needs for clients as efficiently as able.
